Chuckey Crown Jewel

Chuckey Crown Jewel

Chuckey Crown Jewel was purchased in August of 1986 when she was 15 months old. I trained her to drive as a 2 year-old, and began riding her when she was 3. After using Jewel pulling my cart in a cousin's wedding, I began to get requests from others wanting my cart for weddings or other specials occasions. I purchased a spring wagon for such occasions and for the next several years Jewel and I participated in dozens of weddings, reunions, festivals, anniversaries, and other special events.

I have ridden Jewel on many trail rides, including 2 different week-long pack trips. On the first trip, through the Smoky Mountains, I rode her and also used her as a pack horse. On the second trip, on the Virginia Highlands Horse Trail, I rode her every day. She was as fresh and energetic on the last day as she had been on the first.

I like all of my horses, but Jewel is my favorite. She is small in size, but big in heart. She has always done anything that I have asked of her, and done it well. In addition, she has produced many fine foals for us over the years.
