TENNESSEE-VIRGINIA
of
Southwest Virginia and Upper East Tennessee

The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward
the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any
age and to provide information to help others be supportive.

We are a national nonprofit, self-help organization with almost 600 local chapters.

The Tennessee-Virginia Chapter of The Compassionate Friends meets at 2:00 P.M.
on the second Sunday of every month.

Location: Bristol Public Library, 701 Goode St, Bristol, Virginia.

At the corner of Piedmont Ave, and Goode St.

One block from State Street

Meetings are open to all family members who are grieving the death of a child.
There is no religious affiliation and no dues or fees. There is a free chapter lending
library and a free quarterly newsletter.

We offer a safe place for bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings

to meet and talk freely about your child and your grief issues.

No one is required to speak, but non-judgmental listening is expected.

The Compassionate Friends holds a conference annually for parents, siblings,

and grandparents of deceased children.  A special session is held

for first responders and other medical professionals who are associated

with families of deceased children in the first portion of our grief work.

A “Walk to Remember” is held on the last day to honor and remember

all children who have died.  Information concerning the conference

may be gotten at our national website, linked below.

The Compassionate Friends annual Candle Light Memorial is held

the second Sunday of December of each year.

For further information link to the national website below

and search for candlelight location information near you.
